The only thing that probably connects me with Poland is that my wife is a quarter of a Pole. Her paternal grandmother comes from Polish nobility. After the transition of Western Belarus to the USSR, she ended up in a camp, where she met her future husband, who was a guard in this camp. Because he got involved with a “class alien” prisoner, he had to resign. Then she ended up in the occupied territory and was driven into slavery in Germany. The wife recalls that she was very kind and generous and she never said anything bad about Russians or Germans.
By the way, I am convinced that Polish women are the most beautiful in the world :)
